ATB plays cupid

At ATB, we believe that banking can change people’s lives for the better. It just never occurred to us we were playing matchmaker.

Back when life was a little simpler, Laura had a debt to pay. She ended up with much more than she bargained for.

“Many years ago, you didn’t have online banking. I owed money to someone who was an ATB customer for a group gift. Because he was unable to accept an e-Transfer, we met up for a drink so I could pay him back in person and he is now my husband. Thanks, ATB. And, thanks for accepting e-transfers now as it makes me sending him my share of the mortgage easier.”

In 2003 Jarett Gravelle walked into the Stony Plain ATB to hand in his resume.

“Carrie was the customer service manager and I was just coming out of college and looking for a career. I got the job and we worked together for just over a year. Then I took a position at another branch. We started dating about three months after that. Fast forward 15 years, eight branches, eight roles later. We’ve been married for 11 years, have two beautiful girls, two different houses, multiple loans and many great memories and friends within the organization. If I did not walk into ATB that day, I wonder what my life would be like.“
