ATB Wealth Community Service Awards

A trio of ATB team members has been recognized for community involvement.

Lothar Landsberg, Jas Mangat and Shane Schneider (pictured) were nominated by their fellow team members to receive ATB Wealth Community Service Awards.

The awards were presented at an annual ATB Wealth team member conference to those who demonstrate commitment to their communities by giving time through volunteering or supporting community organizations.

“We’ve all got our day-to-day but we have to think about the communities we live in and how to give back,” explained Schneider.

Schneider serves as board chair for the Lloydminster Sexual Assault Centre and has been involved with the organization for a number of years.

“My wife used to work at the centre and when we started having our family she gravitated toward being at home with the kids,” said Schneider. “It was something that was still a passion for both her and I, and one that I carried on.”

Though times are busy with small children and work, volunteering is a no-brainer for Schneider. And, for the rest of the ATB Wealth team.

“There were three of us recognized but the reality is, of the 400 plus that were sitting in the room that day, everybody is doing something,” said Schneider. “I would encourage others to do the same and give back to something that’s in your heart. You can find the time to do it.”

Lansberg was recognized for lending his musical skills to Garneau Church for the last 11 years.

Mangat earned his award for helping bring change to Calgary long-term care facilities accommodating aging Sikh community members who have plant-based diets.
